Masterchef breaks Ten records for third night running
Masterchef has broken TV ratings records for Ten for a third night running.
Last night’s episode, which saw Chris eliminated leaving an all-female final, rated almost 2.4m viewers, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.
Meanwhile, the return of Ten’s Rush drew an audience of nearly 1.2m.
On Nine, the late replacement of Trouble in Paradise with 20 to 1 didn’t make a great deal of difference. The final Trouble In Paradise had rated 870,000, while the Bert Newton-fronted 20 to 1 pulled in 901,000. However the change was late enough that many TV guides did not list the show.
Meanwhile the opening session of the second test of The Ashes pulled in respectable audiences – about 500,0o0 for SBS and 105,000 for Fox Sports.
Thursday night’s metro TV share: Ten 32.2%; Seven 25.4%; Nine 21.8%; ABC 11.4%; SBS 9.2%.
Thursday’s top rating TV shows:
- Masterchef Ten 2.4m
- Seven News Seven 1.6m
- Today Tonight Seven 1.5m
- Grey’s Anatomy Seven 1.4m
- Rush Ten 1.2m
- Nine News Nine 1.1m
- A Current Affair Nine 1.1m

I think they have taken the audience for granted, they have played their cards to get a populace final and sunday wil reflect backlash and potenitally even see a drop in audience
