Masterchef climbs 109,000 viewers but Nine wins Thursday night

Ten’s Masterchef was the most watched entertainment program for Thursday night, gaining 109,000 metro viewers compared to last week and topping the key advertising demographics of 16-39, 18-49, and 25-54.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary ratings, the show attracted 899,000 metro viewers and nationally achieved 1.231m viewers.

Also in the 7:30pm time slot, Nine’s NRL live match between the Parramatta Eels and the Canterbury Bulldogs achieved 374,000 metro viewers across Sydney and Brisbane and 629,000 national viewers.

Surveillance Oz: Crazy Carpark Capers, which aired on Seven at the same time, managed 273,000 metro viewers.

Seven won the night in news with 1.032m metro viewers making it the most watched program of the night. Including regional viewing, it reached 1.689m nationally.

Nine News had 946,000 metro viewers and 955,000 nationally.

Despite Masterchef’s success, Nine won the night with an audience share of 19.4% ahead of Seven’s 15.9% and Ten’s 15.3%.

ABC had an average audience share of 10.7% while the SBS had a share of 7%.
