Worksafe Victoria consolidates roster to McCann

The Victorian Government has appointed McCann as its main advertising agency on its Worksafe account, for the next three years.

McCann joined Grey Melbourne and The Shannon Group, on the account in May 2014.

Mumbrella understands Worksafe Victoria may call on the two agencies, and others, for future projects but they are no longer formally on the roster.

Since its initial appointment to the Worksafe Victoria account, McCann delivered the confronting 2016 ‘Really Bad Day’ Worksafe campaign, which showed how Worksafe inspects workplaces to ensure nothing goes wrong.

The news follow McCann’s recent success in Cannes for its work, Made Possible By Melbourne for Melbourne University.

Other McCann Melbourne government work has included Dumb Ways to Die for Metro Trains,  ‘Fight for the real you’ for the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation, and Care Aware, for the Federal Government.

Worksafe’s executive director of external affairs, Linda Timothy said: “McCann has enormous experience and delivered an outstanding proposal. We are confident that, together, we can create new ways to drive home the workplace safety message.”

She also acknowledged the Shannon Company and Grey Advertising , now whiteGrey, for their previous work.

Adrian Mills, McCann Melbourne’s managing director said: “We deeply appreciate the opportunity to partner with the WorkSafe team on this journey and the responsibility that carries. We couldn’t be more excited.”
