Masterchef moves back ahead on Sunday nights

Masterchef turned the tables on Dancing With The Stars on Sunday night, beating the show by just 20,000 viewers and overturning last week’s defeat.

Last Sunday saw Seven’s Dancing With The Stars rate 1.613m viewers to Masterchef delivering 1.409m for Ten.  

But according to preliminary ratings from OzTam, Masterchef rated 1.469m last night to 1.449m for DWTS.

However, DWTS’ ratings was an average audience across a lengthy two-and-a-half hours, while Masterchef was one hour.

Meanwhile, Merlin was less of a performer for Ten, with the audience dropping slightly on last week to 867,000.

Nine’s double episodes of The Mentalist rated 906,000 and 493,000.

The top ratings audience for a secondary channel was Formula One on One, with 274,000.
