Masterchef outrates The Voice however Nine still wins the night
Masterchef was the most-watched non-news program last night, pulling in 1.086m at 7:30pm out-rating Nine’s The Voice which was watched by 1.064m in the same time slot.
The Voice series-to-date is down 16% compared with the same point last year with last night’s episode its lowest audience so far.
Both shows beat Seven’s reality program House Rules which grabbed 872,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm.
Ten’s reality cooking competition was the most-watched program across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).
Ten’s news quiz program Have You Been Paying Attention? at 8:40pm was the second-most popular choice amongst 16-39 year olds and 18-49 year olds, watched by 790,000, while The Voice claimed second place amongst 25-54 year old viewers.
Nine still managed to win the night with a share of 22.3% ahead of Seven’s share of 16.9% while Ten managed a share of 16.4%. The ABC settled for a share of 15.7%.
In the news battle, Seven News at 6:00pm won with a metro audience of 1.275m ahead of Nine News’ 6:00pm audience of 1.160m. Seven News at 6:30pm was watched by 1.078m behind Nine News’ 6:30pm audience of 1.132m.
On the ABC, 7.30 drew an audience of 743,000, Australian Story (8:00pm) was watched by 758,000, Four Corners (8:30pm) pulled in 675,000, Media Watch (9:20pm) grabbed 681,000 and Q&A (9:30pm) achieved an audience of 691,000.
