Masterchef wins across the demos as Seven wins the night with news and House Rules
Masterchef drew a metro audience of 965,000 at 7:30pm last night, down on last week’s audience of 1.058m.
It was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) and easily out-rated its reality rival House Rules.
Seven’s renovation reality series, which also aired at 7:30pm, grabbed 786,000 down on last week’s audience of 813,000.
Both shows beat Nine’s The Big Bang Theory which was watched by 764,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm, while a second episode at 8:00pm pulled in 619,000.
Seven won the night with an audience share of 19.1%, ahead of Nine’s share of 17.1%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 15.7% as the ABC settled for a share of 12%.
At 8:45pm, Criminal Minds on Seven was watched by 558,000.
On the ABC, 7.30 grabbed 678,000, QI (8:00pm) had an audience of 535,000 and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (8:30pm) drew 692,000.
In the news battleground, Seven News at 6:00pm pulled in 1.073m, sliding to 1.005m from 6:30pm while Nine News at 6:00pm was watched by 1.059m, dipping to 1.018m.
In breakfast TV, Nine’s Today had an audience of 365,000, beating Seven’s Sunrise which was watched by 312,000.
