Sydney, 15 December, 2011:  James Simmons, Director of Match Media, announced today the appointment of Alex Asigno as the agency’s first Head of SEO.

He joins Match from Switched on Media where he had been since early 2009 as Head of Search and part of the senior management team, responsible for process, search products, offerings, revenue growth and profit.

Alex has spent 10 years in online marketing, with a core focus on search.

Before coming to Australia Alex worked in the UK for iCrossing, a global digital and search marketing agency and unit of the Hearst Corporation. There he managed search for clients like Coke, eBay, Microsoft and Virgin.

As Head of SEO at Match, Alex will be responsible for building an integrated search offering, product development, client strategy and innovation.

“We are delighted to have someone of Alex’s profile and knowledge to join our team.  It is incredibly important that we ensure our clients receive the best possible product.  In Alex we have someone who will offer clients a new way to think about SEO in an area that, if managed properly, will be one of the most effective forms of ROI for our clients,” James said.

“With media agencies becoming far more specialised in online, they are in a position to provide a truly integrated offering with their communication strategies.  I am especially excited to join Match as they have a unique client led proposition and an amazing team who push the boundaries of media convention,” Alex added.
