Matt Scotton latest Australian to take senior IPG Mediabrands international role
Another Australian has been drafted into the global management lineup for IPG Mediabrands with Matt Scotton being named Asia Pacific chief strategy officer.
Scotton moves from Sydney, where he was most recently national strategy director for UM, to replace Natalie Pidgeon who has moved into a part-time role with the media agency.
Former Mediabrands Australia chairman, Henry Tajer, has raided Australia to fill a number of senior positions with talent from Mediabrands and its rivals, since taking the global CEO job last year.
In the new role, which is effective from October 17, he will report into recently appointed regional boss Leigh Terry, who Mediabrands poached from Omnicom Australia earlier this year.
The agency’s newly appointed COO, Reg Davidson, a former CFO of the Australian operation, said: “We are delighted to have Matt join our regional team. He has successfully built integrated client solutions in Australia and we see him as a key addition to our regional team. He is from the new breed of integrated strategists.”
