News and sports presenter Matt White will join Ten’s team in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games in his first gig at the network since returning from rival Seven.

White will host Ten’s morning edition of Glasgow Live from 3am AEST to 8.30am alongside Olympic champions Steve Hooker and Leisel Jones.

Ten announced in April that White was rejoining the network after a decade working with Seven where he covered the Olympic Games, Australian Open and Melbourne Cup. Prior to defecting to Seven White spent 11 years with Ten.

It is also likely White will front the coverage of the V8 Supercars franchise which Ten reclaimed the rights for from next year from Seven. He has previously presented the racing franchise on both networks, although Ten has yet to formally announce what role he will take up.

Network Ten head of sport David Barham said: “Ten Sport is delighted to have Matt back as part of our team. He is one of the best broadcasters in this country and will be a great addition to all of our sporting properties.”

The Commonwealth Games kicks off on July 24 with Ten broadcasting 24 hours a day on Ten, One and www.tenplay.com.au.

Coverage kicks off at 6pm with Glasgow Live hosted by Greg Rust. Mel McLaughlin and Ian Thorpe take over from 9.30pm before White takes viewers through until 8.30am.

In addition to the coverage on Ten and One, the network will offer eight digital channels through tenplay.com.au.
