Maud joins forces with Marcs and ARIA

Maud and Marcs have collaborated with ARIA to celebrate Australia music, uniting five music acts with five artists from around the world to create graphic interpretations of the act’s music.

The announcement:

Maud and Marcs have collaborated with ARIA on a marketing initiative to celebrate Australian music, uniting five music acts with five visual artists from around the world to promote homegrown Australian talent.
Designed to celebrate Australian music and to support the music charity ‘Support Act’, the project pairs artists Birds of Tokyo, Bliss N Eso, Emma Louise, The Rubens and The Presets with Finnish born illustrator Kustaa Saksi, Sydney artist Beastman, London-based artist Jonathan Burton, London duo We Three Club, and Australian artist Clemens Habicht.
Each t-shirt features a graphic interpretation of a lyric from each artist, chosen to act as a rallying cry to get behind Australian music and support international arts and culture.
Kustaa Saksi’s illustration for Birds of Tokyo – “WE’RE ALL IN THIS RIOT, WE RIOT AS ONE” – is inspired by lyrics from ‘When the night falls quiet’. Saksi adds a playful energy to the layered, uplifting Birds of Tokyo sound.
Beastman’s design for hip hop trio Bliss N Eso is called, “POWER TO THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE FREEDOM IN THEIR FOCUS”. It is inspired by lyrics from ‘Addicted’ and shows what happens when banging beats and beautiful beasts collide.
Jonathan Burton designed a t-shirt for Emma Louise called “YEAH WE’RE ALL LIVING FREE AND RIDING DREAMS”, which was inspired by her lyrics from “Freedom”. Burton creates a visceral world where imagination blurs with realism, and Emma Louise’s unmistakably ethereal melodies ring in your ears.
We Three Club is a London art duo that brings a psychedelic edge to The Rubens’ bluesy rock vibe, with a t-shirt design called “SLOW DOWN DONT SPEAK SAY SOMETHING” inspired by lyrics from “The Best We Got”.
Australian artist Clemens Habicht has designed subtle creations that collide with the raw energy of the Presets’ dance/techno/rock fusion. The lyrics, “I’M HERE WITH ALL of MY PEOPLE, LOCKED UP WITH ALL of MY PEOPLE”, are taken from The Presets’ song “From my people”.
The t-shirts are now on sale at Marcs ahead of the ARIA awards this Sunday 1st December.
