McCann Melbourne promotes Anita Deutsch-Burley to MD, Roshni Hegerman to strategy director

McCann Melbourne has filled the gaps left by recent staff defections to Deloitte, promoting Anita Deutsch-Burley to managing director and Roshni Hegerman to strategy director.

Deutsch-Burley was previously the general manager of McCann for almost two years, while Hegerman was the strategic planning director at McCann Sydney for over three years.

The duo are set to replace former Melbourne MD Adrian Mills and head of strategy and media David Phillips after Deloitte poached McCann Melbourne’s leadership team last week

McCann Melbourne also lost its digital media lead Justine Mills and ECD Matt Lawson.

Deutsch-Burley said: “I feel very fortunate to be partnering with such impressive client partners and I couldn’t have hoped for a more capable and collaborative senior leadership team.

“Our creative recognition over the past years speaks for itself, but McCann Melbourne’s ongoing effectiveness recognition also speaks for the outstanding results that our creativity is delivering for our clients. That remains a firm focus for us.”

Before joining McCann Australia as an executive director in 2015, Deutsch-Burley was a group account director at George Patterson Y&R for just over a year.

Both Deutsch-Burley and Hegerman will work with the agency’s creative leaders chief creative officer Pat Baron and executive creative director Nicole Mandile.

Hegerman, who is currently based in Sydney, was the strategic planning director at BBDO India for almost two years, joining McCann Sydney in 2014.

Ben Lilley, McCann CEO, said in a statement: “Anita, Roshni and Nicole have proven themselves stars at McCann and I couldn’t be more pleased to have them now leading our outstanding Melbourne team.”

Baron added: “Our Melbourne office is one of the McCann network’s global centres of excellence and Melbourne is also a key contributor to McCann’s regional APAC creativity, with Ben Lilley running his dual role as Asia Pacific Creative Leadership Chair from Melbourne since 2016.”

McCann Australia’s clients include Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, MasterCard, AGL, Microsoft, Uncle Tobys, Metro, V/Line, tigerair and the Federal Government.
