McDonald’s celebrates its brand with a long journey home
McDonald’s has tapped into the role its restaurants play in Australians’ lives in its latest brand push from DBB Sydney.
The ad, titled ‘Almost Home’, follows the journey of a truck driver and his beloved dog, Louie, as they travel across the country and home to their family. The campaign captures the insight that no matter where you go, there will always be a Macca’s.
The ad is a follow up to the campaign that launched earlier this year, which celebrated how McDonald’s has earned its place as a landmark in the geography of Australians’ minds.
McDonald’s Australia marketing director, Jo Feeney, said the brand was proud of the role it plays in Australians’ lives.
“At Macca’s we take great pride in the role we play in customers’ lives every day, no matter where they are. Whether for burger and fries, a break while on a road trip, or a family get together. Our new campaign is centred on highlighting this role that we play for Australians right across the country. In this latest spot, we’re celebrating a story of friendship and family – the togetherness that Macca’s provides for people, whether at home or on the road,” Feeney said.
DDB Sydney, chief creative officer, Tara Ford, added: “Macca’s holds a unique place in the hearts and minds of Aussies. It’s about more than the food they serve or the four walls of their restaurants. We are thrilled to embrace the power of storytelling to showcase this human truth.”
The campaign will be executed across TV, online and cinema.
