MCN’s Melina Augoustakis takes Melbourne strategy role

Pay TV saleshouse MCN has promoted Melina Augoustakis to the new role of Melbourne strategic planning director.

The announcement:

Multi Channel Network (MCN) today announced the appointment of Melina Augoustakis to the newly created role of Melbourne Strategic Planning Director. Melina will report to Melbourne Sales Director, Ben Sumpter.

Ben said Melina’s appointment will bolster MCN’s senior presence in the Melbourne market, allowing greater market coverage.

“This is an exciting new role charged with the responsibility of working further upstream in the media buying process targeting media strategists, planners and clients. Mel is a very experienced executive with a proven track record across all aspects of the Australian subscription television sales and the MCN business. This position will create a real helicopter view of advertisers’ activities so we can deliver maximum campaign impact using all relevant MCN assets,” said Ben.

“There is a real opportunity for continued solid revenue growth in the Melbourne market as some advertisers continue to under invest in Subscription TV, now enjoyed by 34% of all Australian’s,” he said.

National Sales & Marketing Director, Damian Keogh said “Melbourne is a vibrant market for us with a lot of opportunity given the ratings growth we are experiencing. MCN’s Melbourne audience is up 10% in 2010 in the 16 – 54 years demographic. This is even higher than our national audience growth this year.”

Melina was previously MCN’s Group Account Manager in Melbourne, and has worked within MCN for nine years. Her appointment is effective immediately.
