MEC appoints two new staff to Search team

Media agency MEC has appointed Emma Cullen as Search Specialist and Jahn Sapanlay as SEO Manager in response to client demands for digital capabilities at the firm.

The announcement:

25 February 2014: MEC has expanded its Search team with the appointment of two new staff in response to growing demand for digital capabilities from the media agency’s client base.

Emma Cullen joins MEC as a Search Specialist and is the agency’s first Search hire to be based in the Adelaide office. Originally from Adelaide and with a TV media background, Emma joins from Mindshare London where she has been working as a Paid Search Account Executive and more recently as an Account Manager across the Unilever UK portfolio.

Jahn Sapanlay joins MEC as SEO Manager, providing further resource in a growth area for the agency. Jahn started his career as an intern with Columbus Search before specialising in off-site SEO. Jahn became an SEO Specialist in 2012 and has worked on a variety of accounts, including Virgin Mobile, Apparel Group, David Jones, Citibank and Woolworths.

“The additional investment in MEC’s Search resource is a direct result of increased demand from our clients, as their focus shifts to a more ROI-focused marketing mix. We expect growth in Search services to continue throughout 2014 and we will continue to scale up headcount accordingly,” said Alex Hancocks, Head of Search, MEC Australia.
