Media agencies challenged to take on the world in new awards
After their disastrous showing in Cannes, Australia’s media agencies have another chance to show what they can do on a world stage with the launch of a new global awards. The Festival of Media Awards will launch a call for entries on January 7, with a closing date of January 30. The Awards will sit alongside the Festival of Media, which takes place in the Spanish city of Valencia in April.
Australia’s media agencies had a very poor showing in June at the Cannes Lions. Just one Australian media agency picked up a trophy in the media category – a bronze for Universal McCann Sydney.
Mumbrella understands that at least one Australian juror will be invited to partcipate in the two-stage judging process of the Festival of Media Awards, which have 29 categories.
Entries will cost $660.
