Media and adland well represented on Sydney creative catalysts list

Several representatives from the advertising and media world including Vince Frost, Nigel Marsh, Mark Pollard, Glue Society and Andrew Denton have been represented on a list of Sydney’s 100 creative catalysts.  

The list was produced as part of the Creative Sydney festival which begins next week.

Among those included are:

  • Vince Frost, boss of Frost, cited in the list as a “World-renowned art director lending his keen eye to Sydney’s creative industries”
  • Andrew Denton, co-owner of Zapruder’s Other Films for “nurturing a new generation of television talent”. Zapruder is also the company that makes the ABC’s show about the ad industry The Gruen Transfer
  • Adam Zammit, boss of Peer Group – an “Entrepreneur connecting money with creativity to support the local music scene”
  • Production house Animal Logic – “Creative and technical powerhouse behind some of world’s biggest films”
  • Ashley Ringrose & Bradley Eldridge, digital agency Soap Creative– Ringrose is also one of the staff  behind Bannerblog
  • Glue Society – “Agitators blurring the boundaries between advertising and art”
  • Libby Clark, Neil Ackland & Andre Lackmann, The Sound Alliance – “Building communities and bringing like-minded people together both online and offline”
  • Mark Pollard, Stealthand McCann Sydney- “Bringing together Australia’s hip hop communities through Stealth”
  • Natalie Tran, Community Channel– “Offering the world a distinctive new voice through her vlogging”

  • Nigel Marsh, Co-founder Earth Hour, formerly of Leo Burnett and now runnign GPY&R Brands – “A green ad-man with his eye on the bigger picture”
  • Patty Huntington, Frockwriter – “Fashion-blogger selling our talents to the world”
  • The Chaser – “Keeping the bastards on their toes”

Marcus Westbury was the instigator of the Creative Catalyst project. He said: “It’s not about Sydney’s most influential people or the people with the best arts jobs or the people in the biggest institutions. It’s about people who have taken the initiative to make a creative Sydney.”

The full list appears at the Creative Sydney website. Some of the media and marketing people on the list appeared in Mumbrella’s suggestions for the catalyst list published in March.
