Mediacom retains Queensland government media account

MediaCom has retained the Queensland government’s media account, extending its 15-year relationship with the state government.

The deal, which follows a competitive pitch launched last May, will see Mediacom adding non-campaign aspects to their roster along with consolidated media strategy, planning and buying arrangements.

Mediacom’s Willie Pang: “I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

MediaCom has been the Queensland Government’s agency of record since 2004 for campaign requirements.

In the 2017-18 financial year, the total spend of Queensland government departments was $29.9m.

Willie Pang, CEO of MediaCom Australia & New Zealand said: “‘We’re thrilled to be continuing our highly successful partnership with Queensland Government into its fifteenth year.

“Throughout our tenure with Queensland Government, we have continuously propelled them forward. In response to their tender, our offering showed a unique combination of technology, data, insights and understanding of behaviour change. I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

Mediacom’s appointment and expanded remit takes effect on 1 March 2019.
