Melbourne radio ratings: Mix and Nova close gap with Fox FM
Gold 104.3FM took the biggest hit in the Nielsen radio ratings for the Melbourne market.
The Australian Radio Network-owned station was overtaken by stablemate Mix101.1, the survey’s biggest riser.
Gold dropped from 7.9% to 6.8% share Monday to Friday, while Mix101.1 – led by the Chrissie & Jane breakfast show, whose ratings were helped by a house give-away promotion – rose from 6.1% to 7.2%.
Mix closed the gap on Nova100 as Melbourne’s second FM station. But Nova was up too, from 7.2% to 7.6% weekday share, narrowing the lead of the market’s top FM player, Fox FM.
Fox – part of the Today Network, which is at the centre of the prank call tragedy – held on to the top spot, but fell from 10.6% to 9.8% share, Monday to Friday.
Top AM station 3AW took a slight knock to its market lead, dropping from 15.9% to 15% share Monday to Sunday, and by even more during the week, down 1.1 percentage points for the survey period 16 September to 20 October and 28 October to 1 December.
