Radio ratings: Melbourne – Nova100 takes top spot in FM
Nova100 has seized the top spot in Melbourne’s FM ratings, boosting its Monday to Friday market share by 0.8 ratings points to take the crown from FoxFM, which also slipped behind fellow Southern Cross Austereo station Triple M.
Departing breakfast duo Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek increased their lead in the time slot for Nova, which they claimed in the last ratings round, taking 9 per cent, up 0.6, whilst the Meshel, Tim and Marty drive show claimed top slot with a 0.6 point jump to 10.5 per cent.
National rivals the Fifi and Jules show, which airs on FoxFM, dropped from 10.2 per cent share to 8.9 per cent market share and second place for drive.
Outgoing former brekkie favourites Matt Tilley and Jo Stanley continued to dip claiming third in the FM ratings for FoxFM with 7.8 percent share, behind Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy which climbed 0.2 ratings points to a share of 8.5 per cent.
Overall Triple M moved up 8.4 per cent of the Monday to Friday audience, while FoxFM continued its slide from a market leading 8.5 per cent to 8.2 per cent and third place this time. Nova 100 enjoyed an 8.5 per cent share.
Market leader 3AW continued its dominance in AM radio , with a 13.6 share keeping it comfortably ahead of ABC774 (11.6 per cent).
3AW continued to dominate mornings with Breakfast with Ross and John achieving a 18.7 per cent share, with ABC774’s Red Symons second with 14.2 per cent, down from 14.6 per cent last time.
Drive with Rafael Epstein claimed top spot for ABC774 with 11 per cent 3AW’s Tom Elliot delivered 10.6 per cent, just ahead of put his show just ahead of Meshel, Tim & Marty on Nova.
3AW general manager Shane Healy said that he continued to be impressed with Tom Elliot’s ratings. “Tom is in his first year on this programme. He has performed consistently well throughout the year supporting the Station’s belief that he will be a long-term success,” Mr Healy said.
Please, please do not replace Tim with Andrew gaze, I loved him as a basketballer but cannot stand him as a commentator, I will not be listening if he replaces Tim , have to change radio stations, I find Andrew maher a pain but Tim was great.
