Microsoft appoints ex-Leo Burnett global strategy chief Renee Salaberry as new ANZ CMO

Microsoft has appointed former global strategy chief for Leo Burnett Renee Salaberry as its new CMO for ANZ.

In the position Salaberry will be responsible for marketing and demand generation for Microsoft’s commercial and consumer operations in ANZ. She replaces Pip Arthur who stepped out of the role in September 2021 into a product management leadership role at the company, heading the Modern Workplace Business Group, ANZ.

Salaberry joins Microsoft from her most recent role as global CMO for infection prevention technology company Nanosonics, where she spent the past three years overseeing the strategic growth of the company’s propriety technology.  Prior to her time at Nanosonics, she worked as head of marketing for healthcare company Abbott ANZ, and as executive vice president, worldwide strategy director for Leo Burnett. She also spent seven years based in France as chief strategy officer for Publicis Health for ANZ, APAC and EMEA.

In a statement Microsoft said: ” Renee’s deep marketing and industry expertise, combined with her experience working on some of the world’s leading brands during her agency career with Publicis Groupe (Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis Conseil) make her an ideal fit for Microsoft.”

Salaberry will report directly to Microsoft ANZ’s COO Steven Miller and will lead a team of experienced marketers and agency partners.
