The WSL and MKTG are teaming up to help brands leverage the power of the sport in Australia and directly reach its passionate fan base whilst also accelerating the growth of the sport.

Established in 1976, the WSL provides a platform for the world’s most talented surfers to compete at iconic surfing destinations, including Bells Beach, Margaret River and the Gold Coast, and in the sports’ biggest events including the Men’s and Women’s World Championship Tours, the Big Wave Tour and the World Junior Championships.

With year-round presence and global broadcast reach, the WSL already boasts some of the world’s biggest brands as partners. The organisation prides itself on innovation and authenticity and uses the power of surfing and its loyal community, to inspire and create impact.

Starting today, MKTG will actively work with the WSL, and introduce partnership opportunities to brands that are keen to innovate, align and resonate with the core values of surfing and leverage its global reach.

This WSL partnership expands MKTG’s commercial relationships in the Australian sporting landscape, adding to long-standing relationships with the AFL, Cricket Australia, Football Australia and Victoria Racing Club.

Matt Connell, Managing Director, MKTG Asia Pacific, said, “Today’s announcement with the WSL is an exciting new commercial relationship complementing our existing, long-term and successful track record in sport. WSL athletes and events represent some of the most marketable properties in sponsorship globally. Speaking on the partnership, Scott Hargreaves, Commercial Director, of WSL Asia Pacific said “MKTG have clearly demonstrated their level of expertise and understanding of what is required to establish meaningful, authentic and strategic partnerships in sport. We are excited to align with MKTG and have all the confidence the partnership will deliver incremental value for our sport and to brands wanting to build their businesses on the back of professional surfing and our audience”.
