Mojo faces pitch to retain Eagle Boys Pizza

Eagle Boys Pizza is pitching its advertising account, currently held by Publicis Mojo, the company has announced.

The announcement:

Australia’s second largest pizza maker Eagle Boys Pizza has today invited several leading advertising agencies to submit a proposal to provide above-the-line creative services.

The winning advertising agency will be responsible for creating the overall brand direction for Eagle Boys during the next two years, producing above-the-line creative and the media component of the marketing strategy.

The brief does not include below-the-line creative, digital marketing strategy development and implementation, or print.

Eagle Boys Pizza Group Executive Marketing Christine Hooper said Eagle Boys was looking to identify the “best in class” creative agency to move the brand forward by developing strategic brand direction and campaign activities.

“In recent years, Eagle Boys has undergone a transformation. It has now grown into the nation‟s second largest pizza maker and has completely revamped its menu to provide real taste, real size and real value to Australian pizza lovers,” she said.

“Essentially, we will be focusing on expansion, innovation and operational excellence in order to increase our „share of stomach‟.

“With this in mind, we need a fast and nimble creative agency that will work closely with our passionate inhouse marketing team to drive the brand.”

Eagle Boys currently uses the services of Publicis Mojo, which has also been invited to tender.

Agencies are expected to be briefed in the week beginning 28 February 2011, with agency submissions due in the week beginning 2 May 2011 and finalist presentations due in the week beginning 20 June 2011.

Eagle Boys Pizza is Australia‟s second largest pizza maker and is 100% Australian-owned. It operates more than 335 franchised stores throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, employing more than 8,000 staff and making more than 17 million pizzas a year.
