AdWeek: Apple’s New Openness to Ad Blockers Threatens to Remove Publishers’ Mobile Ads
Apple unveils its new iPhone and iOS 9 operating system this week, it could also drop a bomb on publishers by opening the door to ad-blocking technology on its massively popular mobile devices.
Ad blockers have been available on desktop browsers for years, but analysts say Apple’s backing has the potential to make ad blocking more mainstream, making it available to a wider group of consumers.
With Apple’s new tools, developers can build ad-blocking apps that consumers can download to wipe out ads on mobile sites when using Apple’s built-in Safari browser.
AdAge: Marketers Seeking Solutions to Ad-Blocking — Carefully
The nation’s largest advertisers are seeking solutions, technical and otherwise, to combat a new threat to the Internet, a growing movement to block their ads.
Dan Jaffe, the top lobbyist for the Association of National Advertisers, said it’s a delicate situation that calls for a carefully thought out solution. That isn’t within reach yet – even as ad blocking has erupted as a major problem.

Agency Spy: WE ARE Pi Illustrates the Difference Between Right and ‘Wrongler’
When we think of Wrangler jeans, we think of Friday nights spent hanging out at the mall enjoying a Slurpee and some New Jersey-era Bon Jovi.
But the brand still exists, and it would like young folks to view its name positively even if there are no semi-ironic hipster happenings in sight. On that note, the brand hired Amsterdam-based agency WE ARE Pi as its new Euro AOR in April, and the agency’s first work for its client skews toward the young ones and their desire to live free, die at some point and leave a corpse clad in tight jeans.

borne out of frustration – not the right thing to do but the video clearly shows her being run at and pushed.

First kick – she kicked a young girl. That’s a bit unwarranted
Second kick – kind of looks like she was trying to assist the border patrolman, who had just stopped restraining the man. She may have taken the split second decision to trip the man so the border patrolman could continue to pursue him.
I thought the media was there to observe not take sides?

Prior to the kicks she was being pushed and shoved by the refugees in front of the police line. She shouldn’t have got involved but it was obvious she was provoked.

@ Observer
They were trying to run across the field, she (and the other journos) were trying to get into their path to get the footage up close – they were there for the chaos, and they got it. They weren’t victims of assault. And if one refugee ‘provokes’ you, do you have the right to take out your frustration on the next refugee you see?

The incident wouldn’t have happened had those economic migrants not been allowed into the country. They should stay in Syria and fix their own problems rather than becoming a problem for other countries.
