Mashable: Muppets Join Forces With Shirtless Terry Crews, Because Super Bowl

“Toyota is once again tapping star power to stand out in this year’s Super Bowl. This time it’s the unlikely pairing of Terry Crews and the Muppets.

In the 60-second ad, Crews pulls up to a broken down tour bus and to offer his assistance . He’s quickly ambushed by a band of Muppets who commandeer the SUV. A sing-along ensues that explains how the Highlander has room for everything, except for boring. We’ll let you decide how exciting the Highlander is, but the commercial ends with Crews dancing shirtless and hallucinating, so it’s anything but dull.”

The Guardian: News of the World hacker admits lying as part of ‘enormous conspiracy’

AdWeek: Ad of the Day: Cheerios Brings Back Its Famous Interracial Family for the Super Bowl

Laurence Fishburne stars in Kia’s latest Super Bowl ad — or you may know him better as Morpheus, from the 1999 film The Matrix.”

AdWeek: Q&A: Sarah Silverman on the Joys and Terrors of Politically Charged Advertising

“Sarah Silverman is no stranger to controversy stemming from her politically charged PSAs. In her latest polarizing video, released last week, she bonds with Jesus Christ while they watch an NCIS marathon and discuss the state of women’s reproductive rights in America.

The five-minute video, predictably lauded by the left and reviled by the right, has surpassed 800,000 YouTube views in its bid to promote “V to Shining V,” a national pride day for women scheduled for Sept. 27.”

Mashable: ‘Aww’ Is the Only Proper Reaction to This Budweiser Puppy Love Ad

“Friendship, puppies, Clydesdales and beer — everything that football stands for.

Budweiser takes a serious tug at the heartstrings in this year’s Super Bowl ad. The 60-second spot follows the story of an adorable 10-week-old golden retriever and a trainer. When the puppy faces separation from home, the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales comes to the dog’s rescue.”

Mashable: Inspiring Olympic Twins Appear in Soon-to-Vanish Guinness Ad

“Lanny and Tracy Barnes, the twin Olympic biathletes that famously switched places for this year’s Winter Games, are starring in a Guinness ad that will vanish from the web Thursday.

The ad shows a black-and-white picture of the sisters on a slope. Captions explain how Tracy qualified for the Winter Olympics in Sochi while Lanny did not because she fell ill and had to sit out three of four tryout races. Tracy then selflessly gave up her spot to her sister.”
