Moving next door: CHEP finds its new chief strategy officer in Clems’ Lilian Sor

Mumbrella can reveal CHEP Network has appointed Lilian Sor as its new chief strategy officer, replacing David Halter, who left to join Dentsu earlier in the year.

Sor joins from Clemenger Group sister agency, Clemenger BBDO Sydney, where she has been chief strategy officer for the past four years. Now she will oversee the strategy and planning functions at CHEP across the entire network.

Across her career, Sor has led strategy teams across local and international agencies including AMV BBDO, Grey London and Host Sydney, as well as working in strategic marketing roles in the client, digital and CX areas.

CHEP Network CEO, Justin Hind, said: “We’re lucky and grateful that Lil has agreed to join CHEP in such a pivotal leadership position. She has a vast array of diverse local and international experience, combined with one of the sharpest minds in the industry. Lil’s appointment represents the next piece in the puzzle for the evolution of CHEP Network.”

Sor added: “CHEP continues to be at the forefront of our industry. Over the past few weeks of getting to know them, I’ve been blown away not only by the depth and breadth of talent that sits across all facets of the business, but also the ambitious, kind and collaborative spirit that’s been imbued by Justin and the leadership team.”

“I’m honoured to be part of the next chapter of CHEP’s evolution and excited to help the team push the boundaries of what an agency needs to provide our clients for them to thrive in the new economy.”

Sor also joins the CHEP executive leadership team, tasked with supporting the growth of the agency and its clients in the new economy, the agency said.

She follows the path of Nick Zonnios, who earlier this year swapped up Clemenger PR for CHEP, where he became director of CHEP PR.

This month, Clemenger BBDO elevated its Melbourne ECD, Jim Curtis to the role of national chief creative officer across both agencies, signaling potential integration across the two offices. This came shortly after Ryan Fitzgerald departed the Melbourne agency to join Special.
