MTV finds new VJ

MTV Australia and New Zealand announce new VJ.

The announcement:

MTV Australia and New Zealand are excited to announce Keiynan Lonsdale as MTV’s newest VJ, joining Erin McNaught as a full time presenter hosting a variety of on and off air initiatives.

Keiynan first impressed MTV audiences when filling in for Erin McNaught on MTV News, as a co-host at MTV Summer in 2011 – joining Erin McNaught on stage to introduce partyrockers LMFAO and host of the first recording of Local Produce with 360 and Calling All Cars. More recently, Keiynan conducted a live Q&A session for media with visiting Geordie Shore stars Sophie and James at MTV HQ.

Keiynan joins MTV after many successful years as a singer, dancer and stage actor. Lonsdale first captured the attention of Australians in shows like All Saints, Dance Academy and My High School Musical whilst entertaining many on stage as both understudy and lead in FAME The Musical.

Rebecca Batties, General Manager, Music Brands said: “I’m really excited to welcome a fresh face to the MTV Australia and New Zealand family. Keiynan has continued to impress us with his energy and love of all things music and entertainment, he’ll fit right in here. He’s young, he’s fun and he’ll bring a new dimension to MTV in 2012.”

Keiynan Lonsdale, MTV VJ said: “I’ve performed on stages, in studios and to crowds before but nothing has been as exciting as joining MTV as a VJ. I’ve grown up watching, dancing and singing along to artists on MTV so to have the opportunity to be part of the network is amazing. I can’t wait!”
