MTV promotes Katrina Southon

MTV Networks International has promoted Katrina Southon to the role of senior vice president and managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

The announcement:

Sydney, Australia, Monday 17 January 2011: MTV Networks International (MTVNI), a unit of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B), today announced that Katrina Southon, Vice President (VP), General Manager, Nickelodeon Australia has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP), Managing Director, MTV Networks Australia & New Zealand – effective 1 February 2011. The news was announced in Sydney by David Lynn, EVP & MD, MTV Networks UK, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand.

In her role as SVP, Managing Director, MTV Networks Australia & New Zealand, Southon will be responsible for strategic direction and overall management of the network’s bouquet of channels including MTV, MTV Classic, MTV Hits, MTVN HD, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in Australia and MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in New Zealand. Capitalizing on brand strength, international heritage and creative expertise – and exclusive content – Southon will leverage the scale and synergies of the network to continue to add value for audiences, advertisers, labels and platform affiliates.
