MullenLowe US lead creative for Acura to keynote Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit

LA-based Ty Hayward, the lead creative for US automotive manufacturer Acura, part of Honda, will fly to Melbourne to present the global keynote at the 2023 Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit.

Hayward has been a key driver in the creative work for the major US automotive brand including the cut-through campaign ‘Chiaki’s Journey’, a short anime series created to promote the launch of the Type S sub-brand of vehicles.

The Type S sub-brand has graced Australia previously under the guise of iconic cars such as the Honda Integra Type S.

Chiaki’s Journey was a four-part anime series created to usher in the return of Type S models.

The series – which included four one-minute episodes – chronicled the story of Chiaki, a Japanese-American girl who dreamt of becoming the ultimate race car driver.

In this exclusive session, Hayward will share why a campaign like this was created and executed, and how marketers in the automotive industry can think differently to get results.

He joins a speaker lineup that already includes brands the likes of CBRE, HEVN Automotive and Pickles, with more to be announced shortly.

Diana Di Cecco set to MC the Summit

The Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit takes place on 28 March at the Sofitel on Collins St, Melbourne, with Ministry of Mktg founder Diana Di Cecco (previously GM of marketing for GPC brands including Repco and former CMO of 8 Star Energy) as MC.

Earlybird tickets are on sale now.
