Mumbrella announces new editor

Mumbrella has this week officially announced Neil Griffiths as its new editor.

Having spent the last nearly two years living and working in New York, Griffiths returned to Sydney last month to join the company, working out of its North Sydney office.

With over ten years of experience working in journalism and media, Griffiths has worked across online, print, radio and TV, including stints at Southern Cross Austereo, Daily Mail and theMusic.com.au, where he led the team as head of online news and content.

He also currently hosts The Plug podcast – an entertainment talk show where he’s joined by guests across film, music, TV and comedy. Previous guests include Tom Delonge, Jared Leto, Matchbox Twenty, Tash Sultana, Tones and I and Wil Anderson. Before launching The Plug, Griffiths hosted over 160 episodes of theMusic’s The Green Room podcast and was joined by the likes of Foo Fighters, Metallica and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Griffiths will head up Mumbrella’s editorial team and daily news content and oversee the development of all the company’s editorial projects.

“When I was first contacted by Mumbrella, I was hugely impressed about their vision for editorial,” Griffiths said of the appointment.

“Mumbrella is a company I have followed for many years and the opportunity to join was a no-brainer for me. I’m also very lucky to join this editorial team that is already stacked with brilliant writers. I’m looking forward to expanding on what they and past editors have established here.
