Announcing Mumbrella Perth – our new conference for Western Australia

Mumbrella can today announce a new one-day conference in Perth to to discuss and showcase the best practices in advertising, media and marketing from Australia and around the world.

Taking place on February 25, Mumbrella Perth will bring together some of the best thinking from the the state and across Australia to look at topics including agency culture, the economy, the future of technology, strategy, content marketing and creativity.

Speakers confirmed for the event include behavioural economist Adam Ferrier, Nine Entertainment Co boss David Mott, Travis Johnson the CEO of Mnet and West Australian Newspapers CEO Chris Wharton.

The day will start with a look at the state of the economy in the west, the rest of Australia and the global outlook, with unique insights provided by Standard Media Index (SMI) into trends around which sectors are spending their money where. The data will be presented by SMI’s global director of analytics Tristan Masters, who will then be joined by a panel including Wharton to examine how the market will track in 2015 and beyond.

MNet CEO Travis Johnson will give an updated version of his Mumbrella360 address The Future: and What You Need to Do About it, which received one of the best audience feedback scores from the event, and explores the emerging and current landscape.

MNet was behind the Kia Game On activation around The Australian Open which allowed people to try to return a serve from a professional on a mobile device.

The campaign was named ‘best in show’ at the Smarties Awards in September.

Adam Ferrier is the chief strategy officer at Cummins & Partners, and one of the most influential behavioural psychology thinkers in the world, with a hand in numerous award winning campaigns including Share a Coke, Steal Banksy for Art Series Hotels, and FBi Radio’s Ask Richard campaign. Ferrier also released his first book, The Advertising Effect, in May and gave a talk at the Cannes Lions in June. he curated Mumbrell’a inaugural MSIX – Marketing Science Ideas Exchange – earlier this year.

Ferrier will be looking at the most effective ads from across the world in the last year, why they are so effective and the role creativity plays in them.
