Mumbrellacast: Integration, sports rights fights, and positioning a brand sustainably

On this week's Mumbrellacast, Emma Shepherd and Andrew Banks join host, Calum Jaspan to discuss hints of further integration across both Clemenger BBDO and Dentsu, as well as a look at a busy week for the networks with cricket and AFL rights taking focus. Then, Vitasoy's Nick Bartram and Leo Burnett's Kate Silver discuss sustainability being at the heart of the brand.

This week saw a major departure at Dentsu, with Dentsu Media CEO, Sue Squillace opting to leave her post. The group is now on the hunt for a national CEO – as well as a Carat CEO – and will now add a third to its search. Clemenger Group also promoted Clemenger BBDO Melbourne ECD Jim Curtis to CCO across both Melbourne and Sydney agencies. The team discusses the potential implications of both.

Then, with a row between Cricket Australia and Seven taking focus, and reports of a $3 billion offer for the AFL from Paramount/10 on the imminent broadcast rights, the team questions where this leaves the sporting ecosystem, and how the fan experience fits into the equation.

Finally, Vitasoy’s director of marketing & strategy, Nick Bartram and Leo Burnett’s Melbourne GM, Kate Silver join the podcast to talk about the brand’s new platform, pushing ahead with sustainability at its core, and the real-world workings of Publicis “Power of One”
