Mumbrella’s Finance Marketing Summit to return in August with Android Pay boss among speakers

The increasing control consumers are taking over their relationships with banks, insurers, superannuation and payments will be the focus of the Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit with Google’s Head of Financial Services, Colin Barnard, one of the key speakers.

Returning for its second year, the Summit will dive into the challenges and opportunities facing marketers in the fast changing financial services sector.

Barnard: Android Pay

Barnard, who has been with Google for more than a decade in senior roles in the automotive, retail and finance segments, is responsible for rolling out Android Pay in the Australian market.

Sessions at the summit will include a look at how technology is changing the nature of the relationship between banks and their customers, the evolving role of data in driving connection and case studies looking at some of the industry’s most successful marketing campaigns.

Clark: Emerging channels

The Summit will also see the release of exclusive research from financial services specialist marketing agency Yell Creative which will be presented by Yell founders Elizabeth Clark and Nigel Roberts.

Clark and Roberts will reveal where marketers are planning to focus their efforts, what are the new emerging channels and what are the barriers faced in areas including trust and engagement.

Former M&C Saatchi Australia founding partner Simon Corah, owner of consultancy Growth Mantra, will speak at the event for a second year running. Corah, who has been advising some of Australia’s biggest financial services brands, will look at how the next five years will change the way people look at financial services picking the latest trends from around the globe.

The summit will also look at the challenges of social media and how brands are engaging directly with their customers on a daily basis and how influencers are becoming a new channel to connection.

Other sessions will review the importance of trust in the sector and look at emerging business which are disrupting the way people look at financial services.

Last year’s summit was attended by 250 industry leaders who heard from more than 30 top speakers from brands including ING Direct, Westpac, CGU, Citibank, Budget Direct and Mastercard.

This year’s Summit will drive even deeper into the challenges and opportunities facing the marketers in a must attend event.

Earlybird tickets, which is a saving of $100 on the price of a standard ticket, are on sale until July 4.  The Summit will be held on August 10 at Doltone House – Hyde Park in Sydney.
