Mumbrella’s Secrets of Agency Excellence returns with practical workshops to better your business
The Secrets of Agency Excellence (SAGE) masterclass returns next March with a renewed focus on helping independent agencies improve their businesses, with a slate of practical content.
Returning on March 15 in Sydney the day will feature a series of practical and inspirational seminars from leading practitioners and consultants, as well as a dozen hands-on workshops giving you the tools to solve real business problems.
The keynote session will see Special Group New Zealand founder Tony Bradbourne speaking alongside Lindsey Evans, who founded the agency’s first overseas office in Sydney.
Bradbourne will explain how they have built a world-class independent agency with the ethos ‘make things that matter’ over the last decade handling some of New Zealand’s biggest accounts, while Evans will talk to how they have transplanted that DNA to a new market, but built an offering which caters to local needs.
Another presentation will see former OMD, Mindshare and Ikon boss James Greet explain how agencies can set a guiding purpose which can help them stay true to their origins whilst scaling a business and building a sustainable culture.
Greet is credited with turning around some big agencies, picking up some of Australia’s biggest accounts along the way, and is known for his straight-talking and open approach to management.
On the financial side, consultant Kathryn Williams, founder of Kathryn’s Mint, will hold a session deep-diving on financial models and where agencies can improve their efficiencies. In the afternoon, her workshop will then unpack this further, giving you practical tools to start commanding a better price for your intellectual property.
In another session New Business Methodology founder Julia Vargiu will examine the common traits shared by elite agencies – those considered leaders in their field – and how they are able to build business without having to engage in constant pitching.
Her workshop session will share her Ouch Factor formula for calculating the costs for your agency per pitch, and give practical steps for how you can start to win more business from existing clients and grow organically.
Another workshop announced today will see industry marketing expert Samantha Tannous unpack the common mistakes made by agencies in their current PR and marketing plans, and give a series of guidelines on how they can improve these areas and increase the visibility of their agency without breaking the bank.
The SAGE masterclass takes place on March 15 at the Radisson Blu Plaza in Sydney. A limited number of 3-for-2 tickets are now on sale, and you can see more on these sessions here.
