Nabo partners with Seven to run MKR Australia Day BBQ competition

NaboLocal neighbourhood social network Nabo has launched a search for the Australian who can host an Australia Day BBQ like no other in partnership with Channel Seven’s My Kitchen Rules.

WiMKR Australia Day BBQth the aim of creating a new trend of neighbourhood BBQs this Australia Day, Nabo partnered with Seven’s MKR to give four people a fully catered barbecue party to be enjoyed with their neighbours.

The partnership follows Seven investing in Nabo at the end of last year and is based on research by Nabo that revealed 50 per cent of Australians make no arrangements to spend time with their neigbours.

Nabo is asking entrants to the competition to go to Nabo.com.au to create their MKR Australia Day BBQ group and in order to be in which a chance of winning they must then explain why they think they could host “an Australia Day party of a lifetime” and invite their friends, family and neighbours to join the social network.

Nabo founder Adam Rigby said: “Australia Day is the quintessential day for mateship and a time where neighbourhoods and communities should be celebrated. It’s our aim to achieve this by bringing these groups together through food, fun and better connections.

“What’s concerning is that we’re now far less engaged on a day-to-day basis with those who live next door to us than ever before. This campaign is designed to not only encourage Australians to connect in their local neighbourhood for one day, but hopefully inspire them to share more good times ongoing.”

The social network is giving away a party in four states (QLD, NSW, SA and VIC) with prize including the fully catered BBQ, including food and soft drinks, decorations and a clean-up service. Pre-booked outdoor locations for the event may also be supplied to those winners who are unable to hold the event at their house

The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 years and closes on January 14 with the winners, judged by the Nabo team, to be announced on January 15.
