Nando’s names creative and strategic agencies of record

Chicken casual dining chain Nando’s has named independent creative agency SDWM and strategic consultancy Untangld following a competitive pitch, with the work commencing immediately.

Nando’s Australia chief customer officer Tim Stanford said: “To help evolve the Nando’s business, we were looking for ambitious agency partners that could challenge us with their strategic thinking and their quality of creative ideas. Nando’s, as a purpose led brand, wanted to work with an agency that shared the same values, were committed to making change and could work as part of the marketing team. SDWM and Untangld have this in spades, and we can’t wait to see what our partnership will achieve.”

SDWM creative director and co-founder James Orr commented: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with such an iconic brand as Nando’s. They have big creative ambitions and so do we. It’s an opportunity that the team are excited about sinking their teeth into.”

Untangld strategy director and co-founder Danish Chan added: “Nando’s has always been a dream brand for us. A global leader with a challenger spirit and strong ties to the community. To be part of helping craft what’s next for this brand in Australia and NZ, both strategically and creatively, is an unbelievable opportunity.”

Then-named BWM Dentsu was the last agency to hold the creative account, appointed back in 2018. BWM Dentsu has since merged with Isobar, becoming BWM Isobar in June 2021.
