National Maritime Museum promotes new exhibition with animated campaign

The National Maritime Museum is promoting its new exhibition Voyage to the Deep with an animated steampunk inspired campaign created by Bloke.

The animation features Steampunk Lucy who is travelling in a submarine, with the campaign taking its lead from the exhibition which was inspired by 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Manager brand and marketing at the museum Jackson Pellow said: “Since we engaged Bloke, we’ve seen our brand awareness increase particularly among the all-important family market.

”With Voyage to the Deep we hope to have a repeat of last year’s Vikings exhibition – which was our most successful ever. This summer we’re hoping even more families will come and ‘Dive In’ to this fantastic submarine adventure.”

The campaign was created with help from Hackett Films.

Bloke creative partner Mike O’Rourke said: “The museum created a fantasy underworld exhibition inspired by Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues under the sea.

“So we created a fully integrated campaign across almost every possible touch point featuring our much loved 3D character Lucy.”
