Joining the nbn in 2014 as its executive general manager of corporate affairs, Keisler was promoted three years later.

nbn’s Karina Keisler will discuss negative word-of-mouth, industry finger-pointing and an ongoing political rhetoric

Prior to her stint at the nbn, Keisler was the general manager of corporate affairs at Vodafone for almost two years.

In a LinkedIn post, Keisler said: “Never have I worked with such dedicated people who consistently do their best to help people understand the benefits this enormous project will bring despite the relentless commentary.

“It’s thanks to this team that I can confidently look to my next adventure knowing that they will continue to kick goals and, in no time, will have the vast majority of Australia feeling proud of our nation’s position in the digital economy.

“The culture of the business and the outstanding leader Bill Morrow and his crew has made a challenging role incredibly rewarding and I will cherish my time here.”

Once Keisler departs the nbn in August, Keisler will be taking a pause from working to travel to Africa with her family.

Bill Morrow, co-chief executive officer, said in a statement: “Karina has led us through countless press briefings, Senate hearings, community engagements and employee activities in arguably one of the hardest communications and government relations roles in the country.

“While we are sorry to lose her, Karina leaves us with a strong team who will continue to report on our progress, clarify the facts, and help manage the reputation of the company.”

Meanwhile the nbn has also appointed Paul Tyler – the former group managing director of Telstra Business – to the role of chief customer officer.

“Paul is a high calibre executive with significant experience and a proven track record. I’m delighted to have him as part of our team and look forward to seeing him drive significant momentum in this vital part of our business.”

Keisler will be speaking at Mumbrella’s CommsCon in March to explain why the nbn has made reputation an organisation wide KPI, and how to cut through the political noise by making transparent and audience-led communications strategy to building trust.
