ING Direct’s head of social media Neil Collins has moved to PR firm Professional Public Relations, after only three months in the job.
Collins has been appointed the firm’s national social media director.
“The reason I left (ING) was PPR,” Collins told Mumbrella. “I’ve known the guys here for quite a while and they are cutting edge PR agency with a big spread — it was just a really good opportunity.”
Richard Lazar, Managing Director of PPR, said the company was looking forward to applying Collins’s experience across its more than 400 clients.
“It is a coup to get someone of Neil’s calibre, who brings industry leading experience having worked with some of Australia’s most active social media brands such as Vodafone.”
Prior to taking the role, with ING Direct, Collins was social media manager at Vodafone Australia.
Collins is on the advisory board for Mumbrella’s sister event CommsCon.
