Nestlé Australia shifts its confectionery PR business to Red Havas

Nestlé Australia has appointed Red Havas as PR agency of record for its confectionery business, following a competitive pitch.

The agency will be working on the Kit Kat and Allen’s range, with its remit covering PR, influencer and brand experience programs for both brands.

The confectionery PR account was previously held by History Will Be Kind. Founder and managing partner, Emma-Jane Granleese, told Mumbrella that the agency chose not to participate in the pitch process.

“Following a great few years working in partnership with Nestlé across the confectionery portfolio, the account went out to pitch as part of the regular procurement cycle in Q4 2019. HWBK chose not participate in the process. The team are proud to have delivered amazing work across iconic brands such as Allen’s and Kit Kat, consistently smashing ambitious KPIs while driving positive business impact. We wish the Nestlé team all the best for 2020,” Granleese said.

Red Havas’ remit for Nestlé covers Kit Kat and Allen’s

Red Havas was appointed for its proposition of ‘building meaningful connections between people and brands’. The agency has been tasked with building brand equity and supporting product and campaign launches planned for the rest of the year.

Nestlé head of marketing for confectionery, Joyce Tan, said: “We have huge ambitions for 2020 and we are looking forward to working with Red Havas to help us achieve our goals. We’re excited to see the team’s strategic rigour and breakthrough creative ideas get consumers talking about Kit Kat and Allen’s in a more meaningful way than ever before.”

Sarah Trombetta, CEO of Red Havas Australia, said: “Nestlé Confectionery is home to some of Australia’s most well-loved brands so we’re excited to partner up and increase the impact both Kit Kat and Allen’s have on today’s popular culture. We believe the holy grail is to be a meaningful brand and that data-driven insights and creativity lie at the heart of achieving that mission. Watch this space for some uniquely shareable storytelling in the coming months.”

Adhesive PR has previously worked with Nestlé on Kit Kat’s public relations.
