New campaign shows VET as pathway to a dream career

The NSW Department of Education has released a campaign, ‘I’d wish I’d known’ via Capgemini’s The Works.

The campaign shows nine former students sharing their stories on the impact Vocational Education and Training (VET).

In one of the videos, Arcadia Meldrum, who has a Certificate III in Tourism, narrates her story and reasons for completing her education in VET.

There are 9 student ambassadors with their own videos, which will be aired as 15 and 6 seconds ads on social media.

The campaign is based on the insight that although higher education enrolments have risen 43% over the past decade, enrolments in VET are trending down.

The Works managing partner, Will Allen, said: “Many young people are often anxious and face uncertainty about what career paths they want to pursue. By telling the success stories of these nine ambassadors, we are shining a light on the options open to them when it comes to vocational education and training and the positive outcomes it can lead to.”

NSW Department of Education manager strategic communications, Eduardo Carvallo, added: “There are no better advocates to show the benefits of VET than those who have undertaken one of our courses and gone on to achieve great things. The Works team presented the ‘I’d wish I’d known’ idea during the pitch and we’re delighted it has now come to life so comprehensively.”

The campaign follows a number of campaigns by The Works this year, including for LG Electronics and H&R Block.
