Yango appointed to EV Direct’s media, launching new EV brand into Aus market

Indie media agency Yango has been appointed by EV Direct, the exclusive Australian distributor of electric vehicle company BYD, to launch the brand into the Australian market.

The agency will be responsible for EV Direct’s media strategy, planning and buying.

It will work closely with EV Direct’s senior management and marketing teams to maximise brand awareness and drive new vehicle sales.

“Yango is an incredibly agile and responsive partner, their expertise has been invaluable since launching the brand here in Australia,” said Noelle Haddad, chief of staff at EV Direct.

BYD is one of the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturers, having sold more battery-only vehicles than Tesla in Q4 2023.

The brand has “big plans” in the Australian market, with the launch of its most recent model selling out in weeks, creating a backlog of orders.

“This category is experiencing hyper growth, it’s fast paced and exciting to be involved,” said Yango’s managing partner, Luke Povee.

“BYD demands a performance mindset and we have developed a collaborative and agile working model to meet their needs.

“The application of digital expertise alongside an innovative data and measurement strategy has been implemented to align with BYD’s aggressive growth goals. It’s an exciting win for Yango.”
