News Corp shifts its property coverage to Realestate.com.au website

News Corp Australia is moving all of its online property content from its directly controlled websites to a new Realestate.com.au news portal, mirroring the setup of rivals Fairfax Media and Domain.

Michael Miller, News Corp Australasia's executive chairman.

Miller: “This deal ensures our audiences can access the largest, single source of property and real estate information available online in Australia”

The deal will see a team of News Corp Australia journalists working with Realestate’s editorial team to produce daily property market news which will live on the property website, rather than News Corp’s mastheads.

Rival real estate listings site Domain already runs a similar scheme with its owner Fairfax Media, hosting its property editorial on the Domain platform which links from all of its major mastheads.

Michael Miller, News Corp Australasia’s executive chairman, said: “This deal combines the strengths of both companies and ensures our audiences can access the largest, single source of property and real estate information available online in Australia.

“This is equally beneficial for advertisers wanting to appeal to this audience and ensures we are able to deliver unique and impactful solutions for our clients in this space.”

Tracey Fellows, REA Group CEO.

Fellows: “Real estate is not a national experience, it’s local”

Tracey Fellows, CEO at REA Group, added: “We know that Australians are property obsessed and that real estate is not a national experience, it’s local. With more local news content than ever before, people will be able to freely access the latest property news that matters most to them.”

The content available on the website will be unrestricted and free for users at realestate.com.au/news.
