News Ltd unveils Body+Soul website

News Ltd has launched its Sunday newspaper health and wellbeing lift-out Body+Soul online.

The announcement:

News Limited launches body+soul website to grow Australia’s largest health and wellbeing multi-media brand

body+soul, Australia’s number one health, happiness and wellbeing media brand is expanding into a fully integrated website, News Limited announced today.

The digital expansion follows the redesign of the body+soul lift-out in News Limited’s Sunday newspaper network where over the last eight years it has established itself as one of the most valued sections of Australia’s most read Sunday papers.

Complementing the body+soul weekly newspaper product, the new website provides daily access to the brand women turn to for motivation, inspiration, advice and support.

“bodyandsoul.com.au is an exciting new health and wellbeing destination, designed especially for Australian women. They are passionate about change and are seeking ways to improve their everyday lives, stress less, stay motivated and achieve their personal goals. They are conscious of health, diet and beauty and are eager to stay informed,” says Karen McCartney, group editorial director, News Magazines.

“bodyandsoul.com.au provides daily doses of motivational information including exclusive articles and blogs from our trusted experts and editors, step-by-step workouts, parenting advice plus easy-to-use online health tools.”

Speaking on behalf of the Sunday newspaper editors, Sunday Telegraph editor Neil Breen said: “With the extension of the body+soul brand to online, we are now able to engage women in a two-way conversation and reflect the interests and current health and wellbeing trends among Australians. This initiative represents the influence and maturity of the body+soul brand and is a natural, welcome progression.”

“The body+soul newspaper lift-out launched eight years ago focusing on female readers, and now reaches 2.7 million* women every Sunday. Online we hope to reach 500,000+ women every month by the end of 2011,” says Sandra Hook, chief executive officer, News Magazines.

“News Limited’s body+soul editorial teams across the Sunday newspapers and online are fully focused on delivering a holistic brand experience to readers. Advertisers will benefit from the broader access and deeper engagement of our female audiences through innovative, multiplatform solutions and integrated advertising opportunities.”

bodyandsoul.com.au joins News Limited’s expanding network of women’s lifestyle websites including the No. 1 lifestyle site taste.com.au, No. 1 fashion site vogue.com.au and No. 1 homemaker site homelife.com.au.**
