News Queensland to offer new supplement

News Queensland will launch a new supplement on March 13th – featuring coverage and analysis of Queensland issues

The announcement:

On Sunday March 13, 2011, Queensland’s highest penetrating media brand will get a fresh new look, and launch a new stitched and trimmed supplement.

The newspaper will introduce new design, new features, and new columnists, offering greater coverage and analysis of the issues that affect Queenslanders.

Also, The Sunday Mail will now carry a brand new supplement entitled “U on Sunday”.

Printed in full colour, stitched and trimmed to ¾ compact size, “U on Sunday” has been created by a dedicated editorial and design team from the ground up, to appeal specifically to 30-45 year old readers, both male and female.

“U on Sunday” is edited by Belinda Hickman-Newton; “Built around a core of conversational journalism that’s designed to both engage and inspire the reader, the content of “U on Sunday” is unlike anything that’s been tried before in a lift-out of this kind. All of the favourite things that Queenslanders love to catch up on every week, such as food, fashion and the social scene will be blended with a mix of contemporary, thought-provoking features and new columnists”.

Jerry Harris, Managing Director of News Queensland, described the new lift-out as “a fresh take on the weekend magazine concept that is compelling and stunningly designed. Our latest research told us that our readers absolutely love their Sunday Mail, but they are also hungry for more lift-outs of this kind. Indulging in a Sunday newspaper is a well-loved Queensland ritual that “U on Sunday” will embed and enhance”.

“U on Sunday” will be launched with a major television, radio and social media campaign through News Queensland’s advertising agency Junior. The campaign also introduces a new positioning for The Sunday Mail “Made for Sunday”.

With the first issue of “U on Sunday” just weeks away, demand for advertising space is building strongly. Don’t miss your chance to reach more than 1.2 million readers* across Queensland through this inspiring and informative lift-out.
