Fairfax cans mags
Fairfax’s business magazine BRW announces it will stop its weekly print edition to concentrate on digital and flagship list editions, while in the same month the publisher axes the Sydney and Melbourne newspaper magazine inserts with the loss of 46 jobs.
Seven unveils new restructure
Seven’s TV sales boss Kurt Burnette is promoted to chief revenue officer for parent company Seven West Media, while Pacific Magazines boss Nick Chan moves to the role of chief operating officer. Chan replaces Rohan Lund who announced he was departing in September before landing a job as chief operating officer at Foxtel.
Holmes new AIMIA boss
CEO of Caradvice.com.au David Holmes is unveiled as the new CEO of digital body AIMIA, replacing John Butterworth who announced he was stepping down in June.
Supermarkets turn to celeb chefs
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver is unveiled as the new face of Woolworths as the supermarket looks to push its fresh food message, while gastronomic experimenter Heston Blumenthal signs up to front ads for rival Coles.
Bateman to Telstra
Head of strategy at agency The Leading Edge Andy Bateman takes a top sales role with Telstra. He becomes the telco’s director of segment marketing and is replaced by former Y&R Brands CEO Nigel Marsh on a part-time basis.
Joyce leaves MCM
Charismatic CEO of MCM Media Simon Joyce parts ways with the company after five years at the helm.
Ferrier emerges at CumminsRoss
Adam Ferrier takes a stake in Melbourne-based agency CumminsRoss as well as stepping into the role of strategy chief just weeks after leaving Naked. Agency head Sean Cummins announces plans for a New York office in 2014.

Mitchell & Partners and Vizeum get a new CEO as stalwart Kenny Stewart is tasked with leading the brands in the post-Harold Mitchell era.
MFA takes Initiative
