NewsLifeMedia and Pacific Magazines CEOs set to land News Corp roles according to reports

The magazine industry is set for yet more movement at the top according to a report in today’s The Australian, with the  CEOs of News Corp’s NewsLifeMedia Nicole Sheffield and and rivals Pacific Magazines Peter Zavecz also set to move on.

According to the News Corp-owned newspaper NewsLifeMedia CEO Nicole Sheffield is “in the frame for a new role at News Corp”, while it also touts Zavecz for a Melbourne role with News Corp.

The suggestion follows months of speculation around Sheffield’s future, with it understood she has been looking for a new challenge for some time.

Sheffield has been CEO of NewsLifeMedia, which publishes Vogue, Donna Hay, and, for four-and-and-a-half years, joining the publisher in March 2012 from Foxtel.

A new role for Sheffield follows on from News Corp consolidating the NewsLifeMedia sales team with its own in an effort to provide a more integrated offering.

A move by Pacific Magazines CEO Zavecz could see him return to a full-time role in his home town of Melbourne.

Zavecz could be set to depart Pacific Magazines in favour of News Corp

Zavecz: May be planning to depart Pacific Magazines in Sydney in favour of a role at News Corp in Melbourne

Zavecz, who has been CEO of Pacific Magazines for almost two years, lives in Melbourne and commutes weekly to Sydney for his Pac Mags role.

Prior to being promoted to CEO in December 2014, Zavecz had been the director of magazines at Pac Mags for a little more than one year. Prior to that he was the commercial director and publisher of the Homes Group for almost nine years.

Mumbrella has contacted Pacific Magazines comment. News Corp and NewsLifeMedia declined to comment.

The changes follow on from a shake-up at rival magazine publisher Bauer Media, which has seen Nick Chan return to the publisher as CEO.
