Time for some more stories about paedophile priests, Dark Ages dogma and tax concessions for big property owners. Or would that interfere with News Ltd revenue?
Saints? In this age? Who was cured? The blind? Amputees? Dementia patients?
I might as well throw salt over my shoulder to blind the devil and start praying to the Giant Spaghetti Monster.

How sad and disrespectful are those comments. If you people have no place for the sacred in your hearts, then try to be to be kind to those who do.

You secularists and atheists really puzzle me. On the one hand you espouse reason and tolerance, and then you come online and pass comments which are anything but reasonable or ones that indicate tolerance of others beliefs!
An you accuse the Catholic Church of being “in hypocrisy” LOL take a good hard look at yourselves.

Captain Obvious is back just to say – this isn’t the place for a debate on religion, however nice of some Catholics to get on their high horses.
I don’t think many atheists hold an awful lot of tolerance of other people’s beliefs (other than to Pastafarians like myself).
It’s amazing how much religion pervades the Australian media – great to see an atheist PM too. Compared to the UK, it’s a much bigger issue here, and certainly a lot bigger business – just to see all the ads for Jesus etc, Scientologists, Mormons etc. What kind of ads are people thinking of running to go along with this promo anyway? I really can’t see what would be more relevant…
I myself do truly believe that Mary McKillop cured people (it wasn’t all the doctors that worked on the patients too). Having said that, I once had a cold, and I listened to UB40 one evening. The next day (even though my Mum said I’d be sick for a few days) I was nearly fine. I’m nominating them for canonisation.

Heh. Media turning a quid from religious fervour makes me smile.

All those who knock Australia’s first Saint are wanting to deny Australians the opportunity to celebrate and give thanks in a way that enriches our heritage and the efforts made by so many from the Catholic Church who have helped and worked for nothing to provide for a better existence physical mentally and spiritually to enhance peoples lives throughout Australia and over the years. These same people tried to stymie the WYD celebrations in this country. Their words of bitterness and torment are like the stunted stale whispers of the wind eddying around Uluru. Their words the baggage of those without the heart to look listen believe live.
Mary of the Cross – Way of the Cross. Pray.

Fucking hell, The way it is. Do you have no fucking respect?
This is a place of quiet contemplation for the fragile souls of media and marketing.
They come here to seek solace from this incomprehensible world of charades, not to be confronted with some god-botherer flitting through an RSS search feed for “MacKillop”.
Whilst an awful lot of bollocks is spoken here, pushing your unrelated religious agenda is crass.
Amen.

@ AdGrunt
See what I mean everyone, a secularist who I presume proclaims reason and tolerance as the be all and end all, and then comes online and passes comments which are anything but reasonable or ones that indicate tolerance of others beliefs!
An you accuse others of having “no fucking respect” LOL take a good hard look at yourself.

The clue is in “pushing your unrelated religious agenda is crass.”
Give yourself a clue. What you hear is the sound of one hand clapping.
