The announcement:

Further cementing their position as content creators for film, TV and TVCs, Engine today announced that Nik Kacevski, one of Australia’s brightest writer/directors has joined their team. Kacevski, who has an extensive background in film, having worked on movies including Australia, The Spirit, Happy Feet 2 and Mad Max: Fury Road, has also written and directed many award-winning music videos and short films.

Kacevski joins Engine as the production and design house continues its major push into the content creation space. Getting Kacevski on board is also a strategic move for Engine as the company has been recruiting talent known for pushing creative boundaries for some time. Working alongside design director Mike Williamson and 3D director Max McMullin, Kacevski’s strengths in writing and directing narrative performance and live action, 3D and VFX bring an additional depth and dimension to the Engine creative team.

Engine CEO Calvin Gardiner said, “Nik is a real creative talent. He’s a director with a VFX and post background who thinks like a cinematographer. He also understands how to work with all the other elements involved in production and post-production to get amazing results. Nik’s an exciting and very personable guy to work with and I’m delighted to say we’ve already had a very positive reaction to his work.”

The direction for Engine has been refined and defined over the last few years. The company now stands as a serious image solutions house staffed by some of Australia’s most talented creatives and collaborates with some of the best brands in the business.

Nik Kacevski said, “Engine has it all. Design, 2D, 3D, in-house studio, illustrators, VFX, cinematographers, you name it. There’s also a really positive energy as the people here are truly passionate about what they do. My job and what I love to do is to push boundaries, work with clients to figure out the most innovative way to realise their vision, and make the creative come alive.”
