Seven’s My Kitchen Rules wins Sunday night as most watched program

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules dominated Sunday evening as the most-watched program of the night, managing to attract its biggest audience on a Sunday for the season.

According to the OzTam preliminary overnight ratings, My Kitchen Rules, which saw Brisbane’s Della & Tully serve up meals, managed 1.236m viewers, collecting nearly 200,000 viewers more than last week’s episode.

MKR pulled its largest audience to date and was the most watched program of Sunday night.

The program, which aired at 7:00pm was also the most watched program across the key advertising demographics, 16-39, 18-49, 25-54.

My Kitchen Rules was well ahead of its competitors in the same time slot, with Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! attracting 866,000 viewers and Nine’s T20 international cricket match collecting an audience 695,000.

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! climbed to 879,000 viewers during elimination, which saw the departure of former play-school presenter Jay Laga’aia.

Ten’s program was the second most watched of the evening across all key ad demographics.

Seven also won the news battleground, with 1.214m tuning it to its 6pm offering, ahead of Nine’s 1.021m viewers.

While Nine’s T20 match, which saw Australia miss out on the win by two wickets, continued past 8:30pm, Seven’s Hoges: Part 2 attracted 839,000 viewers to the later time slot. It was modestly up on last week’s part 1 which saw 837,000 tune in.

Also at 8:30pm, the ABC’s Midsomer Murders held strong at 805,000 and Ten’s 24: Legacy managed 294,000 viewers, down on last week’s 333,000.

Seven managed to win the night in terms of audience share, with an audience share of 24.9%, ahead of Nine’s 18.1%,the ABC’s 13.8% Ten’s 11.2%, and SBS’ 5.5%.
