Nine has first ratings win of the week but Ten still leads into the weekend

Masterchef may have easily won its 7pm time slot for Thursday but Nine took the night for the first time this week with Getaway pulling a strong audience in the 7:30 spot.  

According to preliminary results from OzTam, Masterchef’s sudden-death elimination easily won the 7pm time slot with 1.4m viewers, a 500,000 drop compared to Wednesday.

Getaway pulled 1.3m at 7:30, edging ahead of Seven rival Ghost Whisperer with 1.2m and smashing Rules of Engagement on Ten with only 830,000.

Getaway’s performance helped Nine to its first win of the ratings week with a 29.7% share ahead of Seven’s 27.6%, Ten’s 22.2%, ABC’s 15% and SBS’s 5.4%.
